This agent isn't saving the world.
My First AI Agent: Less Hollywood, more time for what really matters.
But he saves me time every single day.
No explosions. No radios. No sunglasses in the office hallway.
To be honest, when I first started looking into AI agents, I thought of Hollywood. I imagined agents who can do everything, know everything, and are always in the right place at the right time.
The reality is less spectacular—and at the same time, much more exciting.
Because my first AI agent isn't saving the world. But he is taking work off my plate. And that is exactly the point.
Between curiosity and skepticism
Like many others, I asked myself: What does Artificial Intelligence actually mean for my job in sales?
-AI writes texts
-AI analyzes data
-AI even makes phone calls on its own now
This leads to an obvious question: Are humans even needed in sales anymore? I consciously took the time to answer this question—not out of fear, but out of curiosity.
Why I built my first AI agent
In sales, we spend a large part of our time on things that are necessary but don't add direct value:
-Searching for information
-Organizing data
-Preparing repetitive tasks
-Updating systems
All of that is important. But it's not what sales is really about.
To me, sales means:
-listening
-understanding
-building trust
-developing solutions together
And that is exactly when I realized: AI is not a replacement; it is a tool.
No code. No tech background. No drama.
What surprised me most: getting started with AI agents is much easier today than many people think.
For my first agent, I:
-didn't learn a programming language
-didn't need a technical degree
-didn't set up a complicated infrastructure
I worked with Taibles and learned step-by-step how easy it is to build your own AI agents. The goal wasn't perfection. It was understanding.
What this first agent represents to me
The first agent can't do everything yet. And that is perfectly fine.
He stands for:
-the first step
-the courage to try something new
-using AI consciously instead of just watching from the sidelines
But above all, he stands for one realization: AI only becomes valuable when people use it in a meaningful way.
The role of humans in the age of AI
AI can handle data. AI can handle speed. AI can handle repetition.
But AI cannot:
-build real relationships
-feel trust
-read between the lines
-take responsibility
These skills remain human. And they will become even more important in the future. The difference won't be who uses AI—but who uses it the right way.
